The Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy (BDDT-N)
The Naturopathic Profession in Ontario is currently regulated by the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy established in Ontario in 1925 under the Drugless Practitioner’s Act (DPA), Regulation 278.
Appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in council, is responsible for public protection in Ontario with respect to the practice of Naturopathic Medicine. In order to practice Naturopathic Medicine in Ontario Naturopathic Doctors must be registered with the BDDT-N.
The Transitional Council of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (TC-CONO)
When the Naturopathy Act, 2007 is proclaimed, anticipated for 2013, the profession will be regulated under the Regulated Health Professions Act by the new College of Naturopaths of Ontario. Until then, the transitional Council of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (TC-CONO) is responsible for developing regulations, policies, by-laws and the necessary business operations for the new regulatory body. The practice of naturopathic medicine is the promotion of health, the assessment of the physical and mental condition of an individual, and the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases, disorders and dysfunctions through education, common diagnostic procedures, and the integrated use of therapies and substances that promote the individual’s inherent self-healing processes.
